Beadblasting cost?

I have not been on in a while. I see a lot of new faces. I am trying to get back into the restoration mode on the fastback. (kind of got burnt out) I am trying to decide how to have the car stripped. Has anyone had their whole car bead blasted? How much, and did they prime it before sending it back? I am afraid that the acid dip will be hard to get out of the nooks and crannies and mess up the paint.

I had my 70 convert sandblasted inside and out. Best money every spent. Be careful and find a shop that specializes in blasting cars. It is easy to warp panels with sand. Sand will kill the rust where beads will only remove the paint/primer. Car will need to be completely disassembled prior to blasting. Paid $400 to have the car, rear end, seat frames, and other misc. parts blasted. The blaster primed everything with DP-90 before it left his shop.

If you do not have any rust Soda Blasting is the way to go! I di my Mach1 last weekend. You do not have to worry about warping pannels and it will remove filler and seam sealer. I pais $200 to rent the equipment & $250 in soda.

I would post some pictures but I am still cleaning the garage....

They want $2500 just to strip my car here and another $9500 to replace the lower door skins and repaint the car. If I had known this needed to be done before I bought it and shipped it here, I would have gladly spent the money Stateside. All is not lost as I am about to demonstrate to these Westeren European folks the beauty of globalization. What costs $12000 here costs about $5000 in the Czech Republic so it looks like me and the wife are going to be taking a little trip soon.
