I have a guy that is putting in my gears this weekend that was refered to me by a friend of mine. He has a 5.50 second 1/8 mile mustang and I do trush the guy. He has been putting in gears for a long time and is going to charge $150 for install. I already have the FRPP 4.10s in my house ready to go in the car.

Here is what he told me to get and I want to know if this is correct.

1 - bottle of ford friction modifier
1 - new inner pinion bearing
3 - qt bottles of synthetic 8W90 (ford says 75W140) Is Mobil 1 a good brand?

I have the Diablo Predator so the Speedo Correction will be simple. The entire gear install will be around.

140 (Gear) + 22 (Inner Pinion Bearing) + 150 (labor) + 40 (Gear Oil) + 3 (Friction Modifier) + 380 Diablo Predator = $735

I needed the Predator for MIL anyway

Should be O.K. Don't forget to replace the seals, and check ALL the bearings while you're at it. BTW $150 is a GREAT price.
