Before and after pics of Motor and engine bay, What do you think?

Here are some before and after pics of my engine bay. I pulled everything out and repainted it. I put in a new cam, aluminum heads, 1.6 crane gold roller rockers. I also rebuilt the tranny and carb but as soon as i got it running my carb sucked a bunch of rust out of the tank. Im replacing the gas tank now and taking off the edelbrock carb for a holley. Tell me what you think and also what valve covers I should get. Im leaning toward the tall ford racing polished ones

yeah, the double spring setup is an excellent idea. By the picture that John posted, it looks like you could even color match it to your plug wires.

nice. Its not that hard to do, get an engine hoist and pull er out. Prep and paint, rinse and repeat

i just did mine as well i used some spray paint semi-gloss black... i dont know what you guys use but mine came out almost excatly the same as JB1dsl, minus the engine lol.. looks good by the way

The hood is a 3" cowl but I do not have it painted yet to match the wimbledon white base and red shelby stripes

wasn't there a racing team that had that scheme. I think they also painted the headlight doors and front surround. Looked kind of cool. So how is the fit and finish of the hood, and would you recommend the company to others? Have you wet it down to check for smoothness?

When I did my '70 Ford P/U I used the actual factory paint for the engine compartment. It's been so long I can't remember what it was, just remember it was a PITA to find it. First time spraying with a gun, and it came out so nice, I must have opened and shut the hood a million times, and wore out all my friends. Took years to buy new ones

Its amazing what a little paint and a few bucks will do to an engine bay. Three months worth of stripping the entire front clip and rebuilding the motor gave me what is pictured below. You're engine and bay look real nice
