So when are you going to get started?

Looks good!

EDIT: What are you planning to do with those horns? Not being hard on you, I'm in the same predicament. I took off all the old paint and the pot-metal is pitted pretty badly.

How did you apply the paint? What type of primer (application as well)?

Looks great! Now you have to do the horns, horn brackets and hood release bracket.

I use some cans, for the primer it's a simpler gray primer, nothing fancy

Red - After looking at your progress pics, How'd you paint your compartment? Base/clear coat? If so, I can only assume no wet sanding. Is that the untouched finish clear I'm looking at (Red in color)?

I sanded the entire thing down to the metal, primed it, wet sanded the primer, sealed it, then painted a base coat/clear on it. The picture is after clear... no sanding/buffing... that would have taken forever. There was only minimal trash in the paint when it was done, and after all, it is only the engine compartment. I basically used it to get the rust out of my elbow and painting skills... I think it turned out good.

Since then, I have cut in the doors and jams and am working on the trunk area. I managed to get one endcap on this past weekend and still have the other side remaining... then I will shoot the trunk compartment/bottom of the trunk lid, etc... getting closer!!

Yeah, it seems I have more elbow grease than money... so I dont mind if it takes a little while to get it done, or do it right.
