Being a MALE flag girl rocked !!!!!!!!!

I was informed by our crew chief about an hour before the start of the Speed GT race on Sunday that I was going to double as the team "flag girl" for the driver introductions in Portland. Well, needless to say, that did not go over with me real well. Since the team driver is a woman, she does not like having some super model girl out there to represent her. Soooooooo........ guys like me do it. When I was told I didn't have a choice I grumbled my way to the staging area with my flag feeling like a freak being the only guy out there from 24 teams. That was until I saw all the totallly hot girls and realized with glee that ..... "I WAS THE ONLY GUY OUT THERE!" Did that ever rock !!! I was a flirting machine and had a blast. I told most of the girls I was there to give gay guys some eye candy and they loved it. Funny how that crap works!!

The SCCA officials were laughing and giving me a hard time so I just went with it. After I offered one of the SCCA guys a pole dance with my flag he laughed and got on the radio to tell everyone. Anyone who saw the start of the race probably saw 3 or 4 saftey safari stewarts and 3 SCCA officials huddled around me giving me grief. It really got to be a kick when our teams crew chief came over to see what the problem was only to find out I was being a "flag girl nightmare."

Way too much fun! Can't wait to come up with something really good to do at the season finally in Laguna Seca!

Thinking one of those molded foam muscle costumes would be sweet with a Tiger Racing tank top. Then when Carol pulls the car back to the starting grid I can do a little pose down for her. Not really sure if she would laugh her head off or run me over!!!

I did ask one of the other flag girls if I could borrow her outfit later and she said yes. But I don't think she got the idea I wanted her to still be in it when I wore it. Oh well. Try harder next time.

When Im not busy being the paid super model I'm mostly a grunt when there is a race I can make it to. Changing brake pads, bleeding brakes, patching carbon body work, tire pressures, wheel changes, etc. I got to do a lot of dirty work in Portland. During the race I took lap times and notes based on what came over the SCCA radio. Wish I could say I had some kick ass important job, but their car doesn't need much attention. The crew chief, Paul Brown, and I go way back to the days of his dad, Kenny Brown, being in Omaha, Nebraska. I will be off to Laguna Seca this fall and that will be it for the season. Next year there is talk of running two cars and Paul asked how available I would be for at least west coast events. If that happens I will definatelly be making room for 3 day weekends when the races come around. If nothing else it's a great way to get free dinners, beer, and have fun!

Hehe I've done about 500 virtual laps there.
