Belt size when eliminating smog pump & a/c

FMS A/C delete and removed smog pump (NOT A ILDER PULLEY, JUST BYPASSED) i beleive i was at 73.0" and it fit perfect. NO UNDERDRIVES.

Dont go by our measurements. I took my friends old belt (same setup) and it was like 2 inches too big . Get yourself a rope and route it around the pullies and then measure it. then go buy that size in a 6 rib belt. dont route the rope below the tensioner just like ignore it if it wasnt there, that will get u the size after the tensioner sits on teh belt.

I got mine today, and I can feel a nice difference. I only bypassed the smog pump, cus when I tried bypassing both, I couldn't find a belt wityh enough slack to get around all the pullies with out having too much slack after the tensioner was on it. But the A/C isn't THAT much of a draw anyway.

I'm using a 80 1/2" belt skipping the removed AC and smog pump. Problem is the belt eventually gets loose and slips off the tensioner pulley (cant seem to fit a new 80" belt on). Broke a power steering pump because of it when it got strangled by the runaway belt. Also stalled and couldn't restart my car on a busy highway once when the belt came off and the battery went dead in about 30 seconds (skip underdrive alternator pullies at all costs). I'm now looking for a tensioner pulley with a retainer lip that doesn't cost $80!! Be very careful with this mod is my advice.

ive got one from Kragen autoparts for only $18 and its working great... i can get you the part number if you'd like

nevber heard of a blet flying off

Just measure it, theres no way around it, or no better way.

O and u cant just Remove the AC and get a belt, it wont work. Well unless u also ditch the Power steering. Only way to do it is get teh FMS delete (recommended -- looks nice and original) or get the march kit or something which gives u an ugly idler pulley.
