Belt Tensioner moves back and forth every minute or so?

Hi, On my 2001 GT the stock tensioner was jerking back and forth every minte or so, So I replaced the belt tensioner, idler pully and the belt. The new one does the same thing. Is this normal or is something else causing this. Thanks for any help.

Thump RRR Racing now is selling a billet version that fits your car...I have the 3 bolt version for mine and now have no belt slippage...

I also did change the pulley size to a larger one, since they are relatively universal, and it helped add tension by changing the position of the tensioner arm...

Thanks, it was on defrost and went away when switched to vent. Normal??

Yes. On defrost the AC is engaged to dehumidify the air before blasting it on the windshield (drier air will help pull moisture off the windshield.) The clutch on the AC compressor cycles, on and off, as the system pressures dictate. When the clutch engages, a fairly significant load is put on the belt momentarily -- to get the compressor turning -- causing the tensioner to "kick."
