bent k-member?

well i think its bent. i already replaced front struts and lower control arms. i stil cant get the caster in spec even with caster plates installed. who makes a good k-member for a 94 gt. it has the 03/04 cobra lower control arms already.

What about the tie rods? Do those control the alignment?

I've never heard of a bent factory k-member. I would be scared to get an aftermarket piece since those arent nearly as strong. Any idea what caused it?

If you want to get aftermarket K-Member that is strong and take everyday abuse, Get Maximum Motorsports K-Member,

Everyone will have different opinion on this but I personally use AJE RR K-member and am very happy and it is "almost" daily driver car, I haven't had any problems, But it is hard to bend the factory K-member, Was the car in an accident before?

tie rods are fine. they only control toe adjust. it was in a slight accident where i had to hop a curb. no body damage though. a tie rod was replaced due to that. if i buy an aftermarket k member i want to re use the cobra lower control arms

i have an AJE as well. i drive it all the time. very happy with it

my son bent my previous k-member a year and a half ago when he lost traction and went over a curb (partially due to driving on summer tires in 20 degree F weather). that was also an AJE. the new one i have now has a different design and looks much stronger than the previous one.

Note that if you bent the K member you could have twisted where it mounts and the new K member will not fit without modifications. I have a buddy going through the same process right now. I would suggest taking to a body shop and pay the intial 100-150 bucks for them to check it out. Then it usually only takes a couple more hours to straighten it. The average per hour was 55 bucks around here in Texas. So it ends up being 250 or so for a straight frame/k member.

Just my 2 cents.

I second that. If it was that bad enough to bend the k-member the mounting spots may have shifted also.

You can re-use the cobra control arms with AJE k-member, But why? AJE has the control arms you can use with out going coil overs. (MM k-member, you will have to go coil-overs)

as far as frame, just take it to the shop and see if it's still straight, i doubt it's bent that bad, nobody here can tell you if it's bent of not. take it to the professional and get it looked at.

Maybe somehow when you hopped that curb you tweaked the spindle? Just a thought, that's the only other component I can think of that would throw off your adjustment.
