I hit a pothole two months ago and blew the front pass. and rear pass. tires. Reported it to PennDot(pennsylvania dept. of trans) and they replied saying that some act was passed in the 70's which will not allow the state to pay claims for road hazards cause by nature. Things that they cover would be for example, paint from road lines on your car if it had not dried before cones removed. But good luck, hopefully CA is different.

Dave I know for a fact that an old friend of mine had a tire replaced by the city in which he hit the pot hole in, this was maybe 4yrs or so ago here in PA.

Damn - if they don't reimburse you I heard of a place in PA that does rim patchjobs, etc. I forget where it is though but it's pretty reputable if I remember right.

I'm sure Cali has plenty of shops though, I don't know why I'm suggesting PA to you.

That's what is potentially kills me about buying the last of my MB wheels - they're getting sent out if anything ever happens to them, PLUS they're painted hyperblack. Lots of money to fix. I'm very careful and in the winter they're going in the basement. Tri bars back on with HUGE winter tires!!

Thats not a pot hole, thats a car swallowing sinkhole! maybe you could get reimbursed due to the fact that the pothole should never have gotten that big in the first place!

Jeasus christ, what CA doing w/ potholes that big? That looks like something you would see out here in Maine just after the frost comes up from the winter in the spring time.
