I am wondering what the best 289 heads are to use??? I'm looking at a set of 65 heads, that have been ported, screw in studs/guideplates, and machined for larger valves..
Well, that really comes down to the casting number, quality of porting, valve sizes.. yada yada. Not to mention cumbustion chamber valumes.
SN95's, well.. 94-95 GT's are known for pinging. If you up the compression with a cast-iron head, make sure that everything is in good working order, and you get a good tune!
