Best 351w?

darn, the guy selling the block wont ship it. So that one is out of the question. Thanks for the link. I went to a local speed shop but the guy at the counter just kinda snickered and said he doesnt deal with 351w because nobody wants that engine. All the guys who work their are kind of down on ford cars because the all love the bowties. Next stop the junk yard and mustang corral.

Be kinda hard to use Chevy pistons with Ford heads, seeing as how the valve reliefs are in the wrong place...

That is not an issue.
Folks do it often.
No matter what piston you have in an engine, you always check clearance. A Ford piston is just as likely to need milled or not milled as a Chevy piston.
It all depends on the valve size, head design, deck clearance, cam lift, cam timing, cam duration, etc...
I am surprised to be arguing this point with you, you are one of the most knowledgeable guys here.

Hey while im at it bugging every one I might as well ask if any of you suggest one brand of stroker cranks over another, right now im looking at a skat 9000 series crank 4.00 stroke (bringing me to 408 cui at .03 over) with scat 4340 H beam rods with ROSS forged F/T pistons. Does this sound like a good setup or does any one recomend somthing diffrent.

The reason I asked was the fact that the valves in the center two pistons are reversed from Ford's. And most pistons have offset pins, which if you reversed them could cause problems down the road, I would think.

RDI and SVO blocks are an option too. I have a SVO W-351 which is a 9.5 deck height. I am making a 427 stroker with it.

What a jerk at the speed shop. I don't spend any of my hard earned money with people that annoy me.

Ya and the sad part is when I first built the mustang I walked in and spent like 500 bucks and he still treated me like I was making him go out of his way to help me. Oh Well i guess he doesnt need my buisness the guys and mustang corral are awsome and if they dont have a block laying around I bet they will know of some one trying to get rid of one.

I called my dad the other day and told him im buying an engine, he sounded like a five year old again. It was funny he's all excited and wants to help, which is good because he knows 10 times what I know about engines (which doesnt say much )
