Best bang for the buck S/C

the allen supercharger is the best bang for the buck and is a very complete kit.

It isn't nearly as efficient as the other superchargers on the market. There's someone here with one on his 01 GT with minimal supporting mods barely breaking 300rwhp :nonono:

you need to take a lot of stuff into consideration with a blower. most of the stuff isnt listed on the websites of supercharger distrubuters, or not included in the package of supercharger kits (like the vortech 'tuner kits'). the Mongoose kit from MPH is definitely one of the most 'complete' packages, but still doesnt offer gauges (which most of forced induction people have) and still requires (or is HIGHLY recommended) a dyno pull to ensure the tune is safe. Plus it costs money to have the supercharger installed, or to buy (if you dont have or have access to) the tools needed to install. from there you might find you'll want better wheels/tires and a better suspension/drivetrain to put better use to the added power.

It's hard to put a final price on a supercharger setup.

I guess one has to define bang for the buck. The Allen, for a fairly low price, gets your car supercharged. I am personally going withe the polished 9 lb intercooled kb, which I consider to be the best bang for the buck, although it is fairly expensive.

For the money I would suggest going with the Mongoose kit from MPH. You know you are getting a complete kit and Tim stands behind all of them. :nice: That was going to be my choice until I decided to go with a KB.

would have to agree that the allen kit is not in the running...its (somewhat) cheap, but most people I have seen with it are making pretty low numbers.

I have seen people making 380rwhp with a used Saleen series 4 though...

defleshed, how does your 4:10 rear work with your auto s/c setup, I have 4:10's and was thinking of switching to 373's with my 9 lb kb ?

My 4.10s are great w/ the blower. Launches hard like a mother***a, revs quicker hitting boost RPMs faster (dont forget I have a centrifugal). I wouldnt ever swap em out. I do eventually want 31 spines so I can hook harder launches on slicks/ET streets when I go to the track this coming spring/summer.

I say keep em for now. :nice:
