Looking to buy some 3.73 gears and I am not sure of which brand would be best to go with!

Can't go wrong with Ford Racing. Ford's gears have tight enough tolerances you can take a ring out of one car and a pinion out of another car and be just fine.

I'd like to identify if I already have them installed before I buy, since I know nothing about what the previous owner did to the car all I can ask is, Going 35 in 4th gear it sits a 1 1/2 rpm's. Stock?

another vote for FRPP one of the few ford parts id take over aftermarket

Recent FRPP gears are chinese .. i'll take Richmond and motive any day over Ford. I've had all 3. My Frpps were 80 thou out of round

As long as they're not made out of plastic I don't think it really matters.

That's a pretty vague statement. Where were they .080 out of round?
