Thats basically my setup...I have a Precision Industries 3500 stall converter, Alto Red Eagle rebuild kit, Performance Automatic full manual valvebody with transbrake, Performance Automatic hardened stub shaft, mechanical diode, a deep pan, and a Perma-Cool trans-cooler...

I only had a chance to put 200 miles on the new trans before the oil pan gasket leaked on me...so I yanked the motor...but I have liked the results of the build so far...

I never made a WOT pass or anything with it, I wanted to put about 500 miles on it before I put it under stress.

The car wont be running for a few weeks...the block will be off to the machine shop for some work and new pistons will be going in...once everything is broken in, I will post up how things are going with it...

I got mine done about six months ago but we put a Fairbanks/Superior shift kit in, harden input shaft and a larger over drive band along with everything else you have listed. The thing is amazing now, the overdrive is now like fourth gear in a stick car. I was a little worried how it would handle a 347 but just mash the gas and away you go.

I was on the interstate this weekend, no one around, got it up to 135 and it was still pulling hard.

By the way, do you have gears? since i'm canadian 135mph should equal close to 220km/h. And did u pay roughly the same as FastmanGT for you tranny upgrades?

Yep I have 4:10 gears. One of the best single upgrades I ever did but you WILL have to get a chip or you will burn your transmission up.

I already had the PI 2500 stall I paid around 1600 bucks that was everything and labor

What kind of chip did you get to save your tranny with the gears? Soon i'll be puttin my 3.73's in, and it would kinda suck to wreck my tranny.

I got an Autologic chip from JMS but I "think" Superchips or Diablo can do the same thing. If you don't change your settings via the chip the sensors will think you are running faster than you are due to the gear swap. Also, you will hit the rev limiter a lot faster. It won't shift up or down the way it should. It took me two rebuilds to learn an expensive lesson.

If you do have an AODE get the 4:10's. I have been in cars that had the 3:73's and it helped but not near as much as the 4:10's and with that tranny you need all the help you can get. Once the tranny does go and you get one built correctly your car will be amazing. You can also go to Level 10 and read about the AODE trannys there. One more thing after the instal at higher speeds I felt a little vibration but after an aluminum driveshaft that fixed the problem.

Tranny mods, converter, etc combo

Check out our web site:
http://groups.msn.com/Waynes94GT/waynes94gt.msnw

We have a PATC 4R70W that has very similar mods (you can see the list on their website: http://www.transmissioncenter.net/aode.htm) We also have a PI Stallion multidisk lock up converter. All this is behind a CHP306 with Vortech S-Trim, AFM Stg I powerpipe setup running 15psi on pump gas. 450/440 rwhp/rwtq on a mild tune. Best ET: 12.24 @ 112.5 on a 2.0 60' at 5400' altitude (density altitude during the run was 6400'!!). We're currently adjusting the front and rear suspension setup after installing the Baseline Suspension kit from Kevin Slaby. Our pinion angle was incorrect as well as the Instant Center being over 2 inches too low. We have to replace the springs to raise the car. This should put the 60' into the 1.8 range and the car into the 11s at our altitude.

Thats some great info Nucking Futs, should save me a few bucks anywho by gettin a chip before I do my gear install. They main reason I chose 3.73's over 4.10's was because I would eventually like to get some power adder down the road be it a supercharger, nitrous, or a turbo of some kind. However, I think i'll be doin a little more work on my tranny first!

And GTWayne, I think your car is now a damn good inspiration for more than a few of us with AODE's. Oh, and great links, very informal.

I drive my car too much to look at 4.10s... Plus with the juice I'm pretty well finished in the 1/4 mile.

I'm with you. I had 4.10's in my 91 lx, and I have to say I like the 3.73's a lot better, especially on the highway.
