Mods are listed below in signature but anywayz i want a nice idle sounding cam. a mean sound idle.

whats the best cam for my setup. on a budget also

B303, wouldnt want to overdo a stock engine with anything else.

I should of mentioned that I don't want to loose bottom end power at all. i don't race the car alot at all so top speed is'nt a big deal for me. just looking for the mean idle sound without loosing low end power.

Since your engine is mostly stock, i would suggest E/B 303 cam

What is SD Roland?

and also what is the difference btwn the e and b 303 cam.

Which of the two will give me better idle sound?

What would i need when having my mechanic install them?

Best cam for your setup

You already have the best cam for your setup. You simply do not have enough done to your car to warrant a cam change. With stock gears a cam will sound nice but run like crap!. You will lose mucho power and torque below 3000 rpm's,not to mention a big loss in gas mileage and when you figure in the TOTAL costs involved, it's definetly not a cost-effective modification...I mean $1000 to get 5-15 hp only at high revs ain't worth it. Try the 1.72 roller rocker route, you won't lose any low end and you'll get maybe 10hp on a stock motor and a slightly lopeyer idle. Change the cam AFTER you put in gears,headers,intake,pullies and heads. HTH

the best cam for your combo is the stock cam with 1.7 rockers and if you still whant to change the cam get the stage 1 from TFS or Comp cams XE258HR-12 not bigger than this both cams are to use with 1.6...
i will not get any cam from ford stay away from alphabetic cams they suck!

That's alot of work for 10 hp that could leave you with a car that's a pain in the azz to drive with stalling and surging issues...some cars don't like cam changes and with stock components I would not at all want to swap one out.

if you're only wanting a cam for the rough idle, just unplug a wire



tfs stage I or e303 should take care of your domestic ricer needs

Took the words out of my fingers. I was gonna suggest pulling one of the many vacuum lines coming out of the intake. One of those ol' 1/2" lines should do the trick.

I would think if you really want to throw a cam in, get the B or E cam and enjoy a lumpy idle. My friend put in an E-cam on a stock motor and ran the same times as he did with the stock cam. You shouldn't lose TOO much power if any.

Stock heads and intake = Stock cam there's nothing else to do....
