I wouldn't get a MAC catback, it's loud as all hell. I took mine off my 95 GT and got Summit turbos welded in.

No way man, its not loud enough...

Really though, my GT with a UPR o/r X and Macs isnt as loud as my freinds GT with BBK o/r x and 40 Flows. At least not from inside the car.

The Macs are loud as hell when they are coming straight over the axles and dumping (aka no tails)...

If you keep cats on the car SLP Loudmouth I's all the way. They sound awesome unles you go w/ an offroad midpipe then they sound like crap.

Well, Mac shouldnt be any louder than the bullet style mufflers, should it?

MAC is one of the loudest catbacks out there. I don't remember if it was 5.0 or MMFF that did the test, but it tested second at WOT to a race Bassani catback I believe. The MAC is damn loud.

The baffles? Why would you have to reprogram your computer?

Probably due to the change in backpressure. All I know is the times when I didn't pull the battery before I installed them, when I did put them back in, the car ran like crap and would hunt rpms.

The times I did disconnect the battery and then installed the baffles afterward, the car ran perfectly.

Hit mustangexhaust.com and subscribe to the forums. They have a ton of user submitted sound clips. As for me I really like the sound of Magnaflow, it is slightly louder then stock at idle and wails at wot.

The Mac's really arent that loud, lol. Especially around 3200rpm up under moderate throttle. They really mellow out then with the X pipe. But WOT they wake back up.

Ive heard much louder straight through setups than mine.

I know. Wish I hadn't sold it but I needed the money at the time.

I will say the quality was great, but the fitment was not as good as my SLP cat-back. The over-axle pipes from bassani were welded together and a pita to install and adjust. Kept rubbing the frame or the fuel tank cover. The SLP over-axle pipes were sectioned and held together with a band clamp. Easy to adjust and never rubbed anything.

fyi. good luck on the decision man.

Exactly. Expect to crawl under it a few times after driving to get everything lined up. Mine hit the brake line, UCA, frame, and tire. I adjusted it about 3 times before i got it perfect. After 2 years, it's still perfect.

It's worth the trouble though.

What do you mean by hunt rpms, I think my car is doing that, as is comes down from a rev, not moving, it will drop to about 1000, then back up a little, then down to 700 or whatever idle is.
