Best cheap subs?

basslink

i got the basslink and put in in using directions i found on the web. i spliced it into the 460 original cabling in the back. simple and cheap - got the basslink new off ebay for $289 and that was a year ago. the bass isn't the best when the top is down but the difference to the factory mach 460 is great. you aren't going to "thump" so to speak, and if you really want to, get rid of the whole mach 460 and start over...it's the only way unless you want to spend $1100 (HA HA!!!) for the Mach 1000 upgrade (chumps)...

sony xplode and a cheap amp and a plywood box and some spraypaint?

Or go to walmart or autozone and buy one of those Boom kits lmao

See I keep hearing mixed reviews on the basslink....

Depends how you define "thump"... I want to feel the bass a little inside the car, definately don't want the car next to me feeling it though. The Mach 460 already sounds awesome too me, just want more bass... doesn't have to sound like im in a movie theater but at least be able to handle bass and feel it a bit.
I was thinking Basslink and a whole lotta dynamat. I went to best buy and the cheapest sub was a 12 Rockford, with amp and install and everything it was over $300... too much.

Kicker & RF make some nice sounding lower priced subs. Hollywoods are good too (if they're still making those?). Even plain old Pioneers aren't all that bad for cheap subs.

Get a used name brand amp (but make sure it works first). Don't buy cheap auto parts store/Walmart ish like Profile or Pyramid... get a used RF or something of that quality. USAcoustics are good for cheap amps.

Build your own box out of 3/4" MDF (NOT plywood...!!!). Learn to build it & install the system yourself (its easy. look it up on the internet) or have a friend do it.

$200 might be a little unrealistic unless you already have the car wired for an external amp... but with the right shopping around you can get something that bumps nicely for under $300. Way better than anything you'd get going to a shop and having them sell you their very cheapest stuff at marked up prices.
