There are so many combinations of H/C/I, but which one is the best.

Combo #1 AFR 165cc heads, performer intake, comp XE270HR

Combo #2 Edelbrock performer heads, edelbrock rpm intake, edelbrock performer cam.

Combo #3 Trick flow top engine kit. With Trick flow heads, street intake, stage 1 cam.

Are there any custom combinations that I have not listed that may be comparable?

I personally like the combo # 1.

The bigger question is what do you plan to do with the car? Is it a daily driver with lots of stop and go traffic, a weekend cruser with side trips to the track, or all out race car? Each one of these has it's own best combo. Choose wisely for the type of driving the car will do most. A car with a hot cam and big heads will be a dog in in bumper to bumper traffic because it never get the RPMS up.

+1 Also a step further, what are your future plans for the vehicle? Do you plan on strokin, boost or juice? That should also be put into the equation.

Absolute most power ususally mean a custom cam. Like these guys mentioned you have to honestly figue what you want to do with your car before any combos can be put together.

I am curious why you want the absolute most hp? If its a street car thats not usually the most usefull combo, unless you are looking to be a dyno queen.

If you have aftermarket pistons...I would get some AFR 185 (strip), custom cam, and ported Performer lower with an RPM upper (if you can find one).

If you have stock pistons, I would get some Twisted Wedge heads or AFR 165's with a custom cam and same intake combo as above.

If you want more of a street setup, I would just stick with AFR 165's or similar, performer (or similar), and custom cam.

I just made the plunge for the AFR 165cc heads. I was thinking of going with the Edelbrock perfromer intake. You mentioned the Edelbrock RPM II. I am using this setup mainly on the street and want to have the option of a blower down the road. I am not sure which intake will be the best for my combination. Ported Cobra? Performer, Performer RPM, or Performer RPM II. Or maybe a Tmoss poted intake?

T-moss ported intake would be maxed out and choking off a blown, afr headed terror. The ported cobra would be a little bit better but still not the most efficient.

You would probably be best off with the Eddy RPM II or even the cheaper Typhoon version (if price is a factor) and remember you can always havet those ported by t-moss also.

I think the RPM II is a bit overkill and isn't needed...if you could get a Performer RPM upper from someone and the performer bottom (same as RPM) and match it to the AFR 165 intake ports, per tmoss, I think you would have a nice combo...

Is the RPM available anymore? It seems like all that is available is the RPM II. Maybe if I get a Typhoon and send it to Tmoss I will be in good shape.

I too ran a TFS top end kit for over 3 years. The car felt great all the time, ran good, and was unbeatable on the street light to light. It also ran good at the track. In utah which is 5000 ft above sea level the car in this form went 13.3 at 102 mph. I know your thinking that doesnt sound great but remember its at 5000 ft above sea lvl. In Utah you lose about .8 of a second in the 1/4 mile due to elevation so it was roughly a mid 12 second car. That was with the $2000 TFS street package (heads, intake, Stage 1 cam) and stock 130k bottom end 302. I one day will again go with a TFS setup. Good Luck with your decision.
