Best components for a built Differential??

Ive got a 3.73 in the mail and a buddy of mine is gonna give me some slicks for the summer. What are good components to build up a rear. I have a couple of questions first off.

1) What type of axles are good for a daily driver and some 3-4K launches. Im not too crazy of a driver so something that will hold good?

2)What type of differential? I know ford motorsports has a 31 spline thats basically like a stock differential that accepts 31 spline axles for real cheap. If I have to, auburn or eaton?

3)Is it worth it for 31 spline axles or should I stick with 28's?

4)What Im looking for is input with experience behind it. I know KillerCanary has had trouble with his axle bending at one time so information like this is helpful.

Right now Im looking into Strange axles and an Auburn Pro 31 spline diff. Whats the difference from the Pro to the regular Auburn series. Is it worth the extra $90 that they charge for the pro series.

Just a few questions that I couldn't find because my search came up with nothing. Thanks in advance.

1) Strange and Moser

2) I think the FMS may be a good alternative to the Auburn and Eaton differentials. I've heard more bad than good about both Eaton and Auburn, so the choice is yours. Remember that Eatons are rebuildable, Auburns are not.

3) Stick with 31 splines, you won't be sorry.

If using true slicks, get the 31 spline. I used a regular Auburn for 1 season on slicks launching at 5000 rpm. When it started slipping , a rear end guy polished the cone clutches and it lasted another season befors breaking. My pro auburn is on its 3 season. never had an axel problem, So far 150 launches.

Man, what a small dilemma. I have enough to buy the axles right now and I just have to save a little for the eaton, auburn, or fms diff.

Or should I just install the gear and just have fun with the nitto's for the summer.
