Best gears for the money

I am bout to purchase some gears and was wondering what is the best brand for gears. I was wondering if anybody has heard anything about motive?

Heard of Motive? Sure...but why not go with what 99% of us use - FRPP?
You've spent money on stereo components and "performance tail lights" (?) and now you want to pinch pennies on gears? I'm not trying to flame ya, I just want to show you the light.

I had some Precision gears (4.10) on my 4r70w, I had a lot of whine. Had to redo them about 3 times, my next gears will be FRPP

what exactly are "performance taillights"? do they give you 20 rwhp? do they have built in rockets that propel the car? j/k sorry to be an a**

Ford Racing is what I had in my v6, and what I will have in my 5.0 and GT.

My fiance has richmond in his cobra and they whine alot.

I have FRPP, and they are great.I wouldn't try to cut corners on my drivetrain.That's just my .02

I'm guessing "performance" taillights are altezzas
My sequentials kind of perform ,I guess.

I ordered FRPP 4.10 gears from mustangtuning.com and they sent me motive gears. I tried to put them in anyways, and now i have clearance problems inside the pumpkin because of the motive gears dont fit my 99 GT.

Heres my advice.
-Dont buy Motive Gears
-Dont buy from mustang tuning

I am told that FRPP is the best way to go, and richmonds are next in line.

If they sent you the wrong part, why did you install it instead of sending it back and getting the right one? Kinda sounds like your fault on that one...

Well im going to go with ford gears then and am ordering them today. Im going to go with 3.73's and mustang tuning has them for $150 plus free shipping. I called a company that installs gears and he was charging 600 for ordering gears and labor and he sayed that i would need bearings and that comes with the package too. I told him i already had the gears and he sayed he would install them for $300, so i believe that to be a reasonable price. I think im going to go with that. Do i need bearing's if im going to get some lower gears?

I am getting mine installed for 100 bucks ....IMO , check around for better prices on labor ......

I got my FRPP 4.10s over a year ago they were only like $130. Absolutly no problems with them.

You're getting screwed on install.Hell, the last two sets of gears that I have had put in were $200 labor and that was from FORD! If a dealership will do it for $200, why would an independant charge more?

Are you planning on putting on a blower?If not, you really should get the 4.10s or you will be sorry.

no blower, but i drive to school on the highway and 4.10's will be to much i think. I already ordered the 3.73's and i can't find anybody to install them for a reasonable price. i want to look up some places in the phone book to order some gears but dont know where to look?

I'm telling you, call a ford dealership.They charged me $200 and at least you know that they SHOULD be installed right.

i got my 3.73s in now, and yes, if you are staying naturally aspirated, GO WITH 4.10s!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel a difference with the 3.73s but i would like more. however im planning on going with a blower in the future.
