You're getting rid of the GT40s? or already have them? Are you wanting to get aluminum, or go iron? Price range? Goal for power? What is your set-up? or is the sig. it?

Those arent very good #'s with the mods you have. You should be alot closer to 300 already.

Personally I'd go AFR 165's. And with a good dyno tune you should be well over 300RWHP

There's no magic brand of head that will get you those numbers. Go ahead, buy the little AFR's, but you'll be dissapointed when you still don't make the numbers you want. I've seen plenty of 165's just under 300rwhp.

Why you ask, because it's about cross section, intake selection, rpm range, stroke size, exhaust, gearing, weight of car, trans type, piston speed and induction type.
In other words, it's all about the combo. I bet if you went and got a custom cam made for what you have now. You'll be closer to your goal then just going out and slapping on a set of "better" heads. Just check out this

You must have! If a T-Moss/Thumper combo can get 270HP to the wheels why cant the above mentioned get over 300?

not necessarily(if we are talking about rwhp). I agree with the "its all in the combo". Those holley kits dont put out 350 to the wheels, and neither do the TFS kits( anywhere from 290+).There are afr 185 347 strokers that dont even reach 350hp if the combo nots right. But there are some that reach way upper 300's. I apologize if your talking about fwhp, i was speaking for rwhp.

umm... 82% of 350 = 287 rwhp & 85% (rule of thumb loss with a manual) of 350 = 297.5 rwhp

An 18% loss is roughly 40 hp.Thats with a 5spd.Of course aod will be more especially if you have a high speed stall.

Huh.I am going by the factory 18%. The rated 225 hp 5.0 motor puts appx 185 to the wheels.Give or take a few horse power.Lesson mite be learned here,( By me) so the more HP a motor make the more the 18% goes up?
