best intake for the money?

5 out of the 6 people I posted owned it. 7th was the guy who said it looked good, and the 8th is FORDMUSCLE webmagazine who said it came shipped with a minimal clean up job to lower costs. Very veird.

I posted their names bitch to them about it not me, never said I knew more about it then you, just posting what ive heard.

I was not responding to your post, did I qoute you at all? Whenever the typhoon intake comes up, people chime in on what they have heard and have no idea what they are talking about(such as yourself) and bash it for being an overseas product. Next time if you have no experiance with the product, why chime in?

Well ive seen how you like to make those sarcastic comments and seeing as there is no one else in this thread who said anything about the typhoon, what were you responding to? And the only people who posted between your first post and your second was, rwdtech, and shakerhood and they said nothing about the typoon, guess you just felt like making another post about dumb people right?

And second Ive never bashed the intake for being made overseas, I really could care less, and I think its dumb for people to say its **** because it was made overseas, im sure thats why it comes shipped with minimal cleaning because of the cost, but never said anything bad about it. This is a forum, he asked for my opinion i gave it, All i said was having the intake shipped and paying more to have it cleaned up wouldnt be the best route when you can get an explorer or cobra for cheap. You guys took it to another level. But maybe now if someone does decide they want the typhoon intake, seeing as people have posted the runners need to be cleaned, they will look into it further and decide for themselves if its worth it.

Dude what the hell are you talking about? You need to calm down, those teen age hormones must be acting up. Not once did I attack you or make any sarcastic comments towards you untill you singled me out for some reason.

The typhoon out flows the cobra and explorer. You can get a used typhoon as cheap as a cobra/explorer, have Tmoss work his magic and it will seriously out flow the cobra/explorer.

Hmmm.. primarily because this is a DISCUSSION forum? Data can be gathered without the need to have run the item personally, particularly by those who've considered the piece for themselves and already spent time looking into it.

You need not stick your hands into hot coals to know it'll hurt.

As for the Typhoon castings... yeah... their quality control leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't mean that the part is incapable of performing, only that the castings leave lots of room for improvement. I've not run one of these things either but I've seen enough of the offering to know that if I'd planned to, that I'd also plan on getting it worked over prior to isntallation. I've recommended the Typhoon to folks before who were looking for low-buck solution but also bring up that it'll likely require some attention to "make right". :)

wOw things got ugly last night...I don't think there's enough love around here. It's a decent intake...if you get a good casting then you're golden...a bad one then clean it up..same holds true for any intake you buy.
Derek.

If anybody is interested, I'll have a polished TFS Street heat for sale in a week or two. I would be happy to sell it for $325 shipped anywhere in the lower 40. I'm not trying to post jack.....I'm just saying......

So are you trying to avatar jack then???

If money is an issue, I vote for the explorer intake, but that's because I'm broke. :D

I beleive ALL 5.0 explorers had this intake.

It's not as cool looking as the GT-40, but it's money in your pocket, and the upper can be ported for more flow.

I knew a few years ago when I bought mine, they usually came as a "take off" so they still had the explorer 65mm (?) throttle body attached, and the explorer injectors. The injectors will not work with a mustang wiring harness, but I have seen a write-up on making the throttle body work. Never done that myself though.

explorer intake might be a good choice, but its not a simple bolt on. the vacuum ports must be modified or u must run more vac lines.

and there are 2 dif intakes.
the internal EGR (like the mustangs) with the egr hole in b/w the 2 sections of runners.

i bought an upper WITHOUT the egr hole. my lower had it so running it would result in no EGR. unless you get a matching upper.

also most years didnt have the ACT threads. there is a boss for it, but no hole.

i drilled and tapped it, its a 3/8 NPT thread.
