Best of Both Worlds? AUTOX Vs. DRAG suspension

I'm in need of a new suspension, basically everything ... so when i get a job this summer, i'm buying stuff

i'm a pretty big suspension noob and was wondering - Can you get a great drag and autox suspension going at the same time... or is it just one or the other?

i know a few of you guy's awesome drag setups ie paul, baglock etc, but not many people talk about autoXing... (like paul just got tubular k and a arms, are those good for autoXing)

so if it is possible, anybody want to list an awesome setup (ie coilovers, control arms, springs, etc)

i'm going to race silver state this fall, in what car i don't know, but imo the key to have a compliant suspension is to have a civil spring rate and big sway bars. so when you go to the drags you can remove the sway bar and rely on the weight transfer of the civil spings. kenny brown makes some bad azz sway bars. as far as springs, i consider civil springs, springs that will compress going over bumps so you don't just "jump" over bumps in the road when your taking corners.

Its hard to get both. For drag racing you want a suspension that will transfer the weight, but also not waste energy in compressing soft rubber bushings, lifting the car off the ground, etc. For an autocrossing suspension you want to limit body roll and weight transfer... unfortunately these two things do not go together. Adjustable struts and shocks will help, and a coil over front setup is nice as you can swap coil springs relatively easy. Out back "most" control arms will work well for drag and autocrossing as long as you stay away from uerythane bushings.

I'm in the process or redoing my suspension, I am setting up for auto X, I just ordered front lower control arms, MM k member, and rear lower MM adjustable control arms, I also just got the MM coil over kit for bilsteins, I got the watts link setup from griggs racing and also the CC plates, last thing i'll be looking for is a diff cover to drill to fit the watts link, or I may just buy one from griggs. I believe the MM and griggs suspensions to be the best I have drivin, (never tried the steeda though). I'm dropping tons of coin on this stuff too so I'm hoping it will all be worth it in the end.

I'm working on suspension, too, but only for handling and maybe a little autox. I'm going with all MM stuff.

I don't think you can really create a suspension that will be better than average at autox and drag. IF most of your driving will be on the street, I'd suggest that you build a really good autox suspension to improve your daily driving experience. Then, add a crap load of horsepower with engine mods to help you down the dragstrip. :)

That's the way I'm leaning... Maybe some coil overs to help drag, like paul said.
