best place for dynotuning near boston

Do you need an appointment for dyno tuning? I've never done this before and need a place and Dez is the place that I'd like to try. I'd hate to make an appointment and have to cancel it due to the weather (salt, ice, etc...etc...etc...)

Also, how do you know what it'll cost to dyno your car? I'm sure that there's a lot of variables involved. I keep checking their website but it's not too informative, as they're moving?

Hey pete
you can call dez and set up an appointment. I am pretty sure he charges $60 for 3 runs or $100 per hour. they are all nice guys down there and knowledgable. Mpe racing in taunton also has a dyno with very similiar rates. Are you gonna be tuning your car? Andrew Jeffery

Andrew, thanks. Yeah, we're going to try and tune it. I say try, because we think it's close to where it should be judging by performance and driveability. As a baseline, we jetted both carbs identicle to my brother's combo but with the AFR heads and slightly bigger camshaft, we think that there's possibly a little more in it. That's where the dyno should help.

Paul will be with me to help guide things along, as I'm relatively new with all of this stuff. It's odd, but years ago when Paul put his combo together, he tuned it as best as he could by ear and by driving it. When he finally got it to the dyno for tuning, it was dead on. No amount of dyno tuning produced better results, so he left it the way it was. Eerie?

I'll start making plans to get it done.

Thanks again.
