I was wondering if there was a best/cheapest place to order quality (TMI, etc) Pony interior upholstery kit for my 65 fastback? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

i just bought a 65 non pony kit from cj's pony parts, and it is about the most complete, high quality kit on the market...seat covers, carpet, underlayment, sill plates, kick panels, armrests, headliner, dash pad, seat buns screw kit,750.00 (if you join the herd for 35.00 you save 37.00)

How about Distinctive Industries? Quality and fit wise, how do they compare to TMI? Does this sound like a decent deal?

For $674 CJ Pony Parts has the "Pony Supreme Interior Kit" with the following:

KIT INCLUDES :
* UPHOLSTERY
* CARPET
* CARPET UNDERLAYMENT
* DASHPAD
* DOOR PANELS WITH CLIPS
* WATERSHIELDS
* DOOR SILL PLATES
* SUNVISORS
* INTERIOR SCREW KIT
* KICK PANELS
* HEADLINER (EXCEPT CONVERTIBLE)
* DOOR PANEL CUPS (65-66 ONLY)
* WINDLACE
* ARM REST PADS (68 ONLY)
* QTR TRIM UPHOLSTERY (EXCEPT FASTBACK).
FOLDDOWN CARPET (FASTBACK ONLY)

THIS KIT INCLUDES SUPERIOR QUALITY CARPET BY AUTO CUSTOM CARPETS, AND
UPHOLSTERY BY DISTINCTIVE INDUSTRIES.

I always like Virginia Classic Mustang for any stock replacement parts. They're customer service is great and they usually have the best pricing. Too bad their website is so cumbersome.

TTT.

I'm bumping this old thread because I'm considering buying new upholstery and cushions for the front seats of my '70 convertible. Can anyone recommend a good place to go, or where not to go?

I got everything from CJ Pony parts. You cant beat the prices. When I opened the package my windowlace came in, there were two small strips not one continuous strip. I did not want to piece it all together and I called CJ's and they simply sent out a new package - no problem. If I have a restoration question they send me to someone in that department or the shop that can answer the question. I usually wait to order on Wednesdays to get the free shipping. And No, I am not a paid spokesman but since I purchased 95% of the car over the internet, i have had my share of poor customer service.

there may be some "off - brands" but most all the upholstery is made by either Distinctive or TMI. so when you order from any vendor, you more than likely will get one or the other. Distinctive was the first to make the Mustang upholstery kits 20+ years ago. so the real difference is your personal preference who you buy from
