If you want the best sounding (not the loudest), you need to look at Bassani. I've been running a full Bassani setup (not the side exit mentioned in my sig) on mine for awhile and I can't count the number of compliments I've gotten, even from guys with other brands (Flows for example).

ive been told numerous times that I have the best sounding mustang people have ever heard...Bassani equal lengths, Bassani O/R X, and Bassani cat-back...its not the loudest setup, and its not that classic muscle car sound most are looking for, but its different...its got like an exotic sound to it and can actually be pretty damn silent when you want it to be....but hit the loud pedal and it screams like the world is coming to an end!

if you just want the classic 5.0 sound...go flowmaster, i went mac cuz its a little different , mellow down low, but actually got much louder after a while even on a stock h pipe. however, i also got a mac off road h pipe just a couple weeks back, which is VERY loud BTW, but i dont like the sound of my setup with an o/r x... and my friend ,who used to have my setup and got bassani l/t's hi flow catted x pipe, and bassani cat back is now kicking himslef, it sounds ok...but is so damn quiet....like how my cat back was with stock headers and stock h pipe...long story not so short... i'd go mac, but they are very loud if you go offroad midpipe

j/k man. I have a MAC o/r h-pipe with 2.5" flowtubes into some SLP mufflers (if you can even call them that ) dumped. It is freaking SICK! Only problem with my setup is some people think it is too loud. that website that Chris (donjohn) has a link to has a bunch of great exhaust clips on it. Here's mine:

Man, I just put Edelbrocks SDT mufflers on mine and I LOVE THEM! I've had Flows and Dynomax on mine and these are best by far. They sound similar to Flows, but somehow have a more mature, refined note, rather than just being noise (no offense to Flow lovers). Wish I could give you a sound byte, but I'm taking apart the engine.

The design of the Edelbrock mufflers look damn close to the spintech design. I bet they sound really similar

I will be running Accufab long tubes, flowmaster d-pipe, and spintech sportsmans all in 3" shortly. Should sound insane behind the 351......

I really like my Magnaflows, it gives a real mellow sound down low and a roar up high. I think they are perfect for my overly loud Off road/longtube combination. The reason I purchased these is because the previous owner put on glass packs but left the stock H-pipe. When I put on my stuff it was loud as hell. I love loud cars but the cops don't. I would be banned from the streets.

BTW, What the hell is a D-pipe(is that a typo)?

I am planning on running the 3" SLP cat-back with a new turbo set-up. Hopefully it sounds good! My current combo of mac LT's, prochamber, and american thunder flows has served me well; so well, in fact, that it will be going onto my bronco II.

In my opinion

Borla>Bassani>Mac>Magnaflow>slp>flows

Probably some I missed.

My car came with flows and off road h pipe, wish it had borla

Nope sure isnt. Its flowmaster's mid pipe that they call a d-pipe. Its like a mix between an h and x. Its like 2 pipes running along side eachother with the middle wall between them taken out. The gases arent sent into the other pipe like in x's...but the actual crossover is non existant as compared to an h. Let me see if i can find my pictures.....

Monsterous? I think it was an e-cam...not to big in my opinion. I have never seen them advertise on cam'd cars...i see they tell u sportsmans=off road and prostreets=cats.

So if the car had a stock cam, are u trying to say it wouldnt sound good? Flows sound great stock and even better with a cam. The same thing would go for spintech. I have never heard of a cam making a exhaust that sounds terrible stock and than good with the cam

I'll let you know how this sounds next week when it's put on:

Borla Side Exhaust
Bassani SS catted X with silver ceramic headers

Not going to be incredibly loud but should get me what I wanted.
