this is pretty self explainatory....ive looked at the hanlon kit, the d&d kit, and the ford racing kit...so far i think i want to get the hanlon kit, but before i do, is the ford racing kit one to consider because its like $70 more...and what are the synchros made out of in these kits? brass? i found some on ebay that had carbon kevlar 3rd and 4th gear synchros....im ordering tonite, so i'd really like to know...thanks guys

i bought the one from Astroperformance and was quite happy with it....comes with eveything you need and was cheaper than the others I believe. Also 5th gear is the only gear with a brass syncro the rest are fiber syncros which are better. Not quite sure why 5th gears still uses a brass syncro? could be because of it's location outside the mainbox so it doesn't get as much lube as the rest....who knows. lol hope that helps. BTW I have 3k miles on my rebuilt T5 with no complaints what so ever. Shifts like a beauty!!!

Rebuilt my T5 with the hanlon kit. Definately get the rebuild video if you have never done it before. I still have yet to put it back in the car so we'll see but everything shifted fine out of the car.

All the parts to come from ttc automotive right? The Ford markup is pretty high. I ordered a second gear from Hanlon for 80ish bucks which the local ford dealer wanted 210 or something. Both gears probably came from TTC too....

Yup. Hanlon kit includes bearings... I think it reuses one set of needle bearings though... no biggie...

I got the D&D kit with the super alloy gear set. Has worked great in my T-5 for 2-3 years. That was with me spraying the car at the track making over 400 hp and well over 450 lb/ft. On drag radials, no slicks.
