I'm stationed in the UK, and I want to install a supercharger that I have purchased, but I'm running into a tuning issue. No one here seems to have the software to be able to tune it without a standalone ECU. The price of that is around $3000, so I figured it would be cheaper if I buy my own tuning software. I have a tuner that says he should be able to figure out the software and tune it for me. Any input would be greatly appreciated because I've exhausted all other options. If I can't come up with some good software I guess I'll have to spend the $3000.

I could be wrong, but if you go to americanmuscle.com and buy the custom tuner from SCT, they will send you tunes free for life. You can set up a tuning session where you roll through the list of things you have on the car and they will set you up with a custom tune. Obviously this isn't as good as dyno tuning, but in your case it'd save money.

By the way, I'd never let someone touch my car that said he "can probably figure it out", that's about the scariest thing I've ever heard.

The problem though is that the AM tunes from Bama won't fully maximize the SC. It really needs to be thrown on a dyno and be tuned by software that shops have. There is some software you could look into but I do not know much about the products (Tweecer is the name of 1 of them I think and Diablo is another). American Muscle tune for non cammed/nitrous/SC or Turbo car is good but with those its best to tweak it further. Here is a list of things that cannot be tuned by a simple handheld tuner:

What Mail Order Can Not Tune For:
Certain modifications can not be safely tuned via mail-order style tuning. They require the use of a dyno and wide-band O2 sensors or a "sniffer" to correctly dial-in your A/F, etc. (In these cases please go to SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel! to locate a dyno tuner in your area.)
Non-Tunable Examples:

Non-Mustang Cars
Mustangs Before 1987
Carbureted Mustangs
Non-Stock Type FI
Speed Density Systems
Non-Stock Heads (Stock Style PI Head Swaps are OK)
Non-Stock Forced Induction (This includes ALL aftermarket superchargers and turbos. Stock Cobra OK)
Nitrous Tunes OVER 100 Shot
Non-Factory Style Crate Motors (Direct replacement style OK)
Major Engine Work (Compression Ratio Changes, Stroking, Boring, Heads)
Non-Gasoline Race Fuels (Alcohol, Nitro Methane, Rocket Fuel, Moonshine, etc)
Mustang Computer Links

I'd recommend a self tuner like Sniper Special Forces. Also, get a wide band O2 sensor and then tune the car yourself. I tune all my the engines I've had from a stock Mark VIII to a stock 4.6 GT to a modded and blown 4.6 GT to a modded and blown 5.4 in a GT and I never really had any issues...

Yeah I've already installed a wideband for the SC. I talked to Justin at VMP tuning, and he said he can get me a pretty close tune, then I can tweak it on the dyno with the SCT pro racer software.

SCT or Sniper which is now called Delta Force can both get the job done , the Delta Force Special Forces kit will probably be the cheapest way to get it done if you are trying to save change and for a first time user its probably going to make it alot easier to grasp. I am a dealer for both and I have done mail order tunes for blower cars as far away as Kuwait.

Cool that you are a rep!

A few questions for you.

First, do you have a link to the Delta Force? I would like to check it out and the price...

Second, for the sake of not highjacking the thread, I'll pm you some more questions regarding your tuners and blowers...
