Best v=Value Heads for $500?

Wow, I might look at a set of Thumper heads. Close to that price and complete. If I am reading the ad right on the ebay heads, they are bare and the rest of the valvetrain would cost you quite a bit more. On the Aerohead racing heads, I would check on the head casting number. The 69cc head is going to drop your compression quite a bit. Look at Thumper and see what you think. www.thumperoforangepark.com

I heard GT-40's were just over priced pieces of iron crap but still better than E7's

That's what I always heard... where's Tmoss or somebody when ya need them

Anyone else? Anyone actually running these? I want to buy them this week and I'd hate to be the guinea pigg! :SNSign:

The Thumper heads and Powerheads are said to add about 35-40 rwhp. I just installed my new engine with the powerheads so we will see what happens. Do a search in the tech area for Thumper and Thumpers and you will get all kinds of info on them.

Apparently those no name heads are a machining nightmare. The pushrod holes need machining, things don't line up, I'd stay away. Get GT40s.

you are absolutely right, a buddy of mine got them and the pushrods rubbed the side of the pushrod hole. the springs were crappy, the keepers were crappy, and the valves were crappy. he ended up bolting them on cranking it up and it ran fine for about ten minutes. he took it for a drive and it dropped a valve which ended up beating the head the hell as well as the piston. i would recommend everyone to stay away from these unless you want to do a little machine work and replace all the springs keeper and retainers with high quality stuff.
