Best way to check for vaccume leaks?

Ive tried carb cleaner with no results. Is there something better I can use to check?

After my h/c/i swap the car is running rich and has a surge.

best way is to get a mechanics stethascope and pull the end off so all is left is the ear pieces and the rubber hoses. tape the hoses together on the end and wave it over the places you think it could be. its about the best as far as finding the area, then you can pinpoint it with some sort of liquid.

yeah thats what I was thinking, I tried carb cleaner and no result, I even pulled a vac line off and sprayed it in there with no results.

Ill try the hose thing too.
