Best way to clean your IAC and MAF sensor.

Ive searched and found a couple of different answers, but what is the best way to clean your MAF sensor and IAC?

Clean MAF:
-disconnect battery (very important step, do not skip)
-carefully remove MAF using security torx driver (if you strip an MAF screw you will be very sad $$$)
-use quick drying electrical contact cleaner spray to clean (no substitutions)
-carefully re-install MAF
-check IAT sensor to make sure it is not sideways to the air flow by looking into the intake tube
-reconnect battery and let car re-learn fuel trims based on the procedure in your owner's manual

Clean IAC:
-remove IAC
-spray it out with carb cleaner
-shake out as much excess carb cleaner as possible
-spray it out with WD-40
-shake out as much excess WD-40 as possible
-reinstall IAC

they sell MAF snesor cleaner it like 10 bucks

Well, if the product is specifically advertised as MAF cleaner that I am sure it is safe to use. If I see this in a store I will buy it and give it a try.

QD Electrical Contact Cleaner is $3 per can... But it may not be as effective as a product specifically designed for cleaning MAF.

i'll post a pic of it when i get back form work, the can has a pic of a MAF sensor on it also

I used throttle body cleaner on the IAC, for the MAF I just took the entire housing out (couldnt find those forsaken "saftey" torx bits) and sprayed out the little tube that the sensor itself is in with electrical parts cleaner.

There is also QD MAF cleaner. A friend of mine brought it to my house the other day because we were going to do some maintenance on his car and he said he got it orileys. It's in a gray can, just like the electrical contact spray (just not red). Thought I'd inform .....

FWIW, I've always used the electrical spray on my MAF but I swear that after I used it (MAF cleaner) on my truck, it fixed my idle issue.

I've used Non-chlorinated Brake Parts Cleaner several times in the past with equally great results.

I need to pull my IAC cause my car's throwing a "P1506" code and the idle is messed up. So carb cleaner and WD-40...? I assume, let it dry real well before firing up again?

The only spray I pay that much for is 303 Aerospace Protectant...
