I'm planning on buying an '02-'03GT very soon.One thing i don't like is the 4x4 ride height. So obviously i want to drop it down.

Not really looking for performance springs as this is just a daily commuter car. I just want looks. The Boston roads are terrible and i need the ride to still stay soft. Is it possible? WHat springs will work for me without going to aftermarket shocks.

I don't want to get mod-crazy. Just shifter, exhaust and springs and appearance stuff.

lower the car then put on 15 inch rims and get tires that have tall sidewalls. run at 25 psi..

i had steeda sports on my 00gt and the ride was pretty dang close to stock

Do everything at once...springs, shocks/struts, C/C plates and SFC's.

Really? I'll have to look into that.

I liked the idea of the mach 1 spring/shock combo. But Mach 1's aren't all that much lower that GT's. I'm pretty sure i would have a good ride feel and handling with that setup, but in the end, what am I, 1/2" lower than stock?

since i have a mach 1 i will say that the ride is very nice, firm but not harsh, its about a 1/2" lower than a gt

If you want a half an inch and maintain good ride then order a set of bullitt springs from late model restoration.

Aren't the bullitt and mach 1 springs basically the same?

They are close, but not the same - the Bullitt has more of a drop than the Mach, not by much a 1/4" or so. I have the Bullitt set on my '98 and dropped it a little under 1.25" in front and 3/4" in rear. All the specs say that it drops more on the 96-98 models than the newer ones though.

My recommendation would be to look at a Steeda springs for a decent enough drop and not too stiff combined with tokico adjustables to dial in the ride.
