Call the Comp Cams Tech support line with your complete package and intended use info.

I’d go with the bigger cam here with Rhodes lifters to have a wider power band. I do not know if 45 cubic inches is going to make the engine not lug if you have a tight convertor or try not to rev the snot out of the engine with a manual in stop and go traffic. (See, we need more info that might be in another thread to answer your question.)

Yeah I emailed comp today.
It's a manual with 355 gears.
Scat 347 stroker kit ,cast crank, forged , bushed I beams , forged icon piston floating pins, total seal rings.
With 10.5 to 1 comp.
I'm leaning towards the smaller cam.

I am putting it together( not my first build, but first ford). These are from the parts I won from American Muscle.
I'll pull a 5.0 out of the pick a part and when it's all together then I'll swap it, and daily it for hopefully another fifteen years.

I would go for this one right now.

Comp Cams Mustang Stage 3+ Xtreme Energy Computer Controlled 218/224 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft 35-324-8 (86-95 5.0L Mustang) - Free Shipping

FREE SHIPPING! Street Performance. This cam is a good choice for the High Output (HO) 5.0 that was featured in the later Foxbody Mustangs for street performanc
www.americanmuscle.com

Its the same cam as the 35-351-8 but its $30 cheaper right now. Both are XE270HR grind, one says its for 1.6 rockers, one says 1.7 rockers (cam is still the same).

I had one (that I have since sold) when I was building my current combo but decided to go with a Crower of similar specs and range (a little bigger though). In hindsight I would have used the Comp instead. No issue with the Crower but I think I would of had a little more down low power and torque.
