Just got some BFG DR's 255-60-16 I believe they are 60 not sure but anyway how will my rear end hold up? I've got 83K miles on the car. Please only reply if u know what u are talking about and have actual experience not just some regurgitated (sp) information that u heard some friends friend say. Also what would be a nice burnout lenght to do? I was thinking around 8-10 seconds would be good.

I have Nitto DRs.. and so far I haven't liked them that well. I mean they're better than street tires but they are hard to hook. My rear end is holding out just fine on them and I've been doing 3.5k-4k launches.. but I'd be scared to do any higher. I also do a lenghty burnout.. probably 6-8 seconds here.

I have seen many stock rearends last fine with DRs and ET Streets. Time on stickier tires will take its toll. I guess my answer is that no one can tell you how long it will last, some go forever with drivers that run them hard all the time. Others break sooner not being driven as hard.BTW, I replaced my factory diff with a 31 spline unit and axles. ( if you don't have gears and do upgrade, that would be the time to change the gears as well) I also broke spider gears in the 31 spline unit, so nothing is for sure.
On DRs your rearend should last a while.
A 6 to 8 sec burnout in 2nd gear will do it, just when you start to get good white smoke from both wheels.
