ok so im really wandering, how big of lift you can go with without getting piston to valve love making..

2.02 valves in the head and around a .540 lift cam, i know duration comes into effect, but i dont have it all yet, so what would be t3h max? I dont even know if the engine has different pistons but just to be safe..

stock bottom end 302, pro comp heads 180cc or 190cc, 58cc, b cam, eddy performer intake, holley dp'er, long tubes, no accesy's other than water pump and alt, 373-4.10's.

im looking at a stage 2 tfs cam, when the time is right, just seeing if it might need notched, this is the biggest ive been with valves and cams (not b cam)

I'd go with an Anderson cam over the TFS2. They seem to have a cam grind for any application. I wish I had bought one of those before I got my TFS1.

There's no specific limit. There are so many other variables that you aren't looking at. Cam timing has a lot to do with it as well. Clay the pistons and check, that's the only way to do it.

Just take a grinder to the pistons.

You're gonna have to grind on the pistons. I had an F303 in my old motor with AFR 185s and stock replacement pistons and I had to extend the side of the intake valve reliefs. I didn't have to make them deeper because the cam only made 512 lift.
