I just ordered two front bilstein HD struts for my lowered 03GT
i have the griggs coilover springs (350lb coilover rate)
im getting rid of my koni yellow single adjustables because the ride was way too harsh. will these struts improve the quality of the ride compared with the harsh konis?
How does everyone like their bilsteins?

I don't think so but I have never ran koni's. the ride in my stang I used to think was harsh until I bough my IROC comuter car. now I think my stang is a cadilac. I love how it handles but there is a deffinate stiffness to the ride but I am down 1.75 as well. I am not sure you can ever have the best of both worlds. too nice of a ride may = bottoming out.

I have h&r supersports. I alsmost went coilovers but never pulle the trigger was waiting to see some review on the eiback coilover kit as I belive they may have a more engineering $$$ that MM or griggs etc.

I would play with your spring rate if you have coil overs as well. I think the srings are pretty cheap. I think I read that before that you are like 350 or so. you may cosicer backing that down to 250-275.

see i hate to sound annoying, but making all these threads im trying to get this setup right, for a year the front has been making all kinds of noise, its quieted down a bit but its still there with the konis. im blaming it on the stiff struts of the koni's but im starting to think it could be the c/c plates as well

my biggest concern right now:
strut travel- The steeda 4 bolt plates im using are flat, compared to MM and griggs plates. im wondering if this inch or so of strut travel length is causing the struts to bottom out on bumps. they werent cheap and theres nothing wrong with them, but im thinking its hindering the travel of the struts. is this possible, and can you maybe post some pics of your MM plates on the tower, to see how far it extends up and allows the strut to travel? thanks..

I have the Bilstein's and love them.. They are alot better than the QA1's I had. With they QA1's over ever man hole cover, or small bump in the road, I would hear this clunk clunk.. coming from the struts. Since I put the Bilsteins in this has stop... although it does still happen if I hit a pot hole the size of the grand canyon. Oh I am also using the MM CC plates.
Thanks,

The Bilsteins are very firm. If you are looking to relax the ride, I would not go Bilstein. I had my Bilsteins for a year, then ripped them in favor of Tokicos to soften things up a bit.
