2. Tee the vacuum reference from the intake of the turbo.
( This is the one I'm unsure of,..is the vacuum signal in front of the impeller the same as intake manifold vacuum?)

this works just fine, in fact it was what i was going to suggest if you hadnt.

All this and you are still uncertain it is even going to shift properly with your vacuum dilemma. I know you will figure it out, but lets hope it doesnt take six methods to do so.
