Black hose going into fenderwell

Hello- I'm cleaning up the vacuum lines in my '85 5.0 GT- there's a hardish line going into the fenderwell, that continues under the car towards the back.
I was wondering what this is, and if I should cap it off, remove it, or give it vacuum- thanks! Mark W.

That's probably the line to the fuel tank for emissions. It will go to the charcoal canister mounted on the front of the frame rail. If you've removed the canister, you can remove the line.

Gotcha- thanks! I was pulling out all the emissions stuff, and saw that running towards the back axle (couldn't trace it to the tank) and thought "oh crap- what'd I just break!" Thanks man! That's a load off Mark W.

just remember that if its not hooked up to your evap cannister fumes will be vented to the atmosphere, which isn't the greatest, especially if its parked in a garage.
