Black Valve Covers done this weekend!!!

Some start to finish pictures, as well as discoveries...

Those are my friends 2v pi heads they are sitting on btw.
Before:
The process:


Had to remove the battery and battery mounting box to remove the passenger side valve cover

The 3v has c-clamps not cam ladders

The black one is oem off and 05 GT, notice how ford did away with bolt hole locations on the 07 valve cover, although the heads suport all the mounting holes, weird.









All Done, took about an hour and ahalf with two guys wrenchhin, and a run to the store for rtv sealant. :grin:

Looks good Interesting about the valve cover bolts or lack of...Now the engine looks more stealthy as it does not have as much reflected light.

looks good! i wonder how much different a gloss black paint job would look.

I didn't want the black to be too shiny, so i went with a semi-gloss black engine paint and it worked perfect. Is a perfect match for the composite intake color.

good to know. did you use a rattle can, or something else? which brand?

Nice! I powder coated my red to match the interior plus it looks super bitching against the Alloy paint.

Good work!

$75 bucks for black valve covers and you just got to send me the old ones after the swap
