Blackverts turbo setup finished ( PICS)

Just got back from a vacation ( 1000 mile road trip) and got right to finishing blackverts setup, before anything else.. 3 hours into it, I had it done, painted, bolted on and snaped these pics.
I really like the way it turned out, and IMO its not bad at all for my first DIY single setup. My last single setup I had alot of help with, this setup I designed, welded and cut 100% myself. I have plenty of burns and cuts to show for it, lol
Payment is on the way, so he should have the turbo setup on the car shortly!
Now it's time to move into my new place (moving to Orlando), settle in, and start making someone else a similar setup. Now that I know what to cut and where to cut and weld my next setup will have less welds and a cleaner look.

Nice work.... Like to try my hand at that some Winter....Looks like one hell of a learning curve on the pipe cuts....you must have a nice pile of cut-offs...

Well I started out with a couple 3" bends and 2 2.5" bends, and the 1.5" bend.. I visualize my design before cutting/welding, as to not cut and throw away extra pipe. I have small slivers left over from trimming to fit, but other then that its not too difficult.. You have to put some thought into the design and placement though.. thats the hardest part, IMO.
TIG welding has a learning curve though.. Not as easy to just pick up and go like MIG, but Im getting the hang of it now.

wow, that is amazingly nice, if you don't mind could you PM me about how much that ran him, I'm interested in a good bolt on setup that doesn't cost 2 arms and a leg, I wanted to go N/A, but for quick power this would be good, and if I keep the boost down my high mileage block will last...

lol, it's not chevy orange, its Vibrant red.. a stock 94/95 color. The motor is just for mock up, and is not meant to look pretty or nice, the only thing used for my 94 on that motor would be the block, intake, water pump, and valve covers.

Hey JR, I was actually just up in your area.. what a mess DC is going through! all through Alexandrea I had my eyes peeled for your car, lol.
But yea, without a mock up motor, or atleast something to go by, its really difficult to do anything. Im not even fimilar with the V6 motors.. Although my mother has an 03 v6 Mustang, that I've been tempted to use for a test car.

Yes, TIG is much better at heat control, and much more forgiving then MIG.. With MIG, when you start that weld, your stuck to it, weather it burns through or not.. With TIG you can stop at any point, go back, and touch up, ect. I LOVE IT!
I dont touch the MIG anymore, unless im doing subframes or something to that degree. I wouldnt say TIG is that much easier to pick up, but once you got the hang of it, your golden. Practice is key though.
