So this has happened before.. but this is the situation..

When I got in the car this morning (my dad had changed out the screws that were in the plenum and put the stock ones back in, the ones that hold it down) it idle a little rough, maybe 200-300 rpms more rough. I said "hmm" and proceded to head to work. It felt kinda weird but I kept driving to see if anything would change. When I got to the stop sign at the end of my road and pulled out in 1st gear it felt like it was trying to die, like it wasn't getting enough fuel/air or something. I drove it a little ways and it did it through 1st, I let off the gas and let the RPMs fall and listend to the exhaust tone, it normally is real smooth and deep, this time it felt like it choked or something, it wasn't consistent. it felt normal again after the next stop sign. When I got to work and parked the idle rpm felt like it jumped just a tad. There is a humming noise since I installed the TB and Plenum and was thinking that was coming from the IAC, could the IAC also be causing these other problems? I didn't know for sure since if I'm driving the car and giving it gas and it feels like it's about the die could the IAC effect that, I thought it only effected idle problems.

on the way home it seemed fine, i dunno.. this is bothering me. if it does it in the morning ill be pissed :(

the tps has a spring because it opens and shuts the butterfly

IAC problems are intermittent... I really think that is it.

This problem is definately intermittent.. I would hook up my SCT Xcal2 and try to datalog it but I know I'll never be able to catch it when it does it.

We changed the screws out because I had an intake spacer that I had already taken off.. I went to sale it to someone and realized they needed the longer screws.. so I took those out and put the stock ones back in

Uh-Oh. You didn't crack your intake putting those longer screws in there, did you? If you didn't tighten them in all the way, that humming sound was air getting sucked in between the upper plenum and intake. I know this is stupid, but try disconnecting your battery and reset everything, then load your program again.

no, we checked to be sure, the humming noise is still there also. I've read several times it can be from bad IAC's. It stops humming when I give it some gas  And when I park the idle jumps 300 rpm. it's done that since the LT install. what do you think?

your ecu needs to be reset, disconnect the battery, reconnect after a few mins let car idle and drive for a while. this should relieve problems , the noise you hearing is the increase in air flow no worries its common with plenum upgrade.

whenever i disconnect the battery i should load my tune back on, right?

if the battery disconect doesnt help, check the iac, that little thing can be a pia. No leaks at the seals/gaskets? make sure you didnt crack the intake from the screws, btw if i am not mistaken, ford is replacing the cracked lower intakes in like 98 -01 or so. im not 100 percent sure on the years though, might want to check it out if that turns out to be the case.
