well i finally managed to gernade 3rd gear today on my way to class. getting onto the highway there was a tow truck towing a big truck behind it so i nail it in 2nd, shift into 3rd and BANG CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH CLANK CLANK CLANK... but 4th and 5th still worked so i limped home (where i swapped it for the 02 and still made it to class on time  )

i have another T5 sitting in my garage i can swap in this weekend probably

orrrrr i can go with the astro performance "heavy duty" t5 thats rated for 350hp ($650)

just seen on astros site the heavy duty one is only rated at 250ft lb of tq :notnice: looks like itll be another stocker for a while... wonder how long this one will last

beats me

from their site
T-5 "World Class" Heavy Duty 5 Speed Transmission
Completely "Rebuilt" with Bearings, Synchronizer (Blocking) Rings, Seals, Small Parts Kit, 7 Tooth Speedometer Drive Gear, All Steel Bearing Retainer, and any other Hard Parts Needed. Same Transmission found in 1985-90 Ford Mustang 5.0L. Features a 3.35 1st Gear Ratio, with a .68% Overdrive. Rated at 250 Ft. Lbs. of Torque @ 350HP (Flywheel).

Sorry to hear about that Ubran :(

T-5's are kinda known to do that :bang:

I go kinda easy on mine :D

Seems like driving style should be considered to determine which path is best for you

Money could also have a bit to do with it as well :rlaugh:

the Heavy Duty T5 is exactly what you just blew up....A world class T5. That is what FORD labeled them. It says so right in the description. The only reason it lists foxes is b/c the length is different.

I bought a G-Force from them and, I'm hear to tell ya...their customer service is second to NONE! Anthony there has be super helpful with me on phone.

I think the 3.35/1 first is the difference between the two torque ratings. I think that the 2.95/1 first gear tranny would be the 265 lb/ft one and the 3.35/1 would be the 250 lb/ft. Anyone? Beuler?

I know it may not be what your looking for but the t56 I got from D&D is a lot of fun. Getting into reverse is a bit of a chore but rowing through all those gears is great, plus I can beat on it and rest assured that something else will break before it will! (and yeah, it was pretty expensive I think it came to somewhere around $4k with everything)

there never has and never will be a T5 with a 94/95 input shaft with a 2.95 1st gear.

rebuild it with a Z Code or G code gear set.
Z Code = 350hp G code = 600 hp

or just buy a 3rd gear + barings

G code, what are you making up names now?(dont do that) i believe your referring to the gforce transmission, and also similiary astroperformance provides a super t5 which rated the same in terms of power and maybe 50.00 cheaper then the gforce which is on national backorder supposibly

G code set is the cluster and gears used in the gforce transmission. I just rebuilt my transmission using the Z set, Timken bearing set, and new bearing retainer. igotyofire any questions? I am trying to build a t56 next.
