BLINKERS

Okay after doing a search on the fourm. I found a few related topics but none of it really helped me. Now my mustangs blinkers are not working nor have since the day I owned the car. I have been searching for the blinker relay for a bit and have had no such luck finding it. :bang: Now I have a 90 2.3 NA soon to receive the 2.3T ( just waiting on my IC and BOV to come in the mail). Now does anyone know of the exact location of the blinker relay for this car? I know some have said behind the glove box and behind the fuse panel, I can not find the SOB :notnice: ..... I so wish it was a 30 sec job. I know the car had an alarm in int at one point. The previous owner pulled it out himself as well.
Any help would be appreciated at this point in time I am ready to just rewire thd damn thing.

The flasher relay is right on the fuse panel, under the driver's side of the dash (all the way over on the left. I think it's behind that plastic cover under the steering wheel). The flasher relay is the big round silver thing on the fuse panel, you seriously can't miss it.

Okay there is supposed two relays in this car. I know the flasher relay works just fine wich is located in the fuse box. I need to find the one that controls the blinkers. Chiltons says there are two different ones as well. I am just getting fed up with the damn pos.

well thats the problem..... ur following chiltons LoL

Haynes says it is on the fuse panel. The turn siignal relay is the circle deal on the front. The one directly behind it, still on the fuse box, is the hazard relay. The glove box relay is for later cars that have the fuse box over there.

I have a 90 stang, the turn signal flasher on mine is on the right side of
the upper part of the console behind the radio, you may have
to feel around for it..it's hooked to a bracket by a nub on top
of the flasher, give a twist and it will release, unplug the old
one and install the new flasher..then reinstall.5 min. job

btw..my replacement flasher didn't have a nub to put back
into the bracket,so I tucked back into the side of the console.

hope this helps.. :nice:

exactly, the one in the fuse block is for the emergency flashers, I dont know why all the books get it wrong but the actual turn signal flasher is behind the console near the radio. Mine was green. replace that and i bet you'll be in business.

Nice thanks guys..... I will get out there today and play with it. I was about 2 steps from tearing my dash apart. Wich could be a good thing. I always learn something easier when I tear it apart and put it back together again!

By the way I have an after market radio with the easily removed dash kit would that make access easier?
