Hi
I just read in one of these nice moded mustang magazines about a V6 with a vortech blower getting the same gas mileage than without. I wonder how that works and if it would be the same for the GT. I always thought bolt on a blower and the gas mileage goes south. which would make sense since it is performance and not Fuel economy you look fore if you install a blower

Of course, driving normal won't be putting you in boost territory which results in basicly the same or close to the same fuel mileage.

I get an average of 18.3 mpg with my V8 at around 500rwhp. I drive it normal sometimes and a little aggressive too.

*Not from personal exp*

From what I've read if the tune is right and you can keep your foot out of her, you won't fair much worse then stock.

May depend on the type of blower too. The centrifugals impart much the same power low down and hit you with the power at the top end whereas the Rottes-type are pumping all the time. My Vortech HO gives better mpg than it did stock. Bear in mind too that higher octane gas has a higher calorific value and will return better mpg too.

I had a vortech non-intercooled supercharger on my automatic 06 GT. I was getting 18.5 with my 410 gears. Now, with the supercharger and gears I am getting 16.3.
