As you's know, i had alot of problems after my TFS track heat and 9 pounds of boost... the car would fall on its face.... As of 10 minutes ago and about 5 minutes of my time, the problem is gone!!! Vortech sent me another check valve kit which included a vacuum restricter which i never had before... i installed that with the new check valve (same one as old one) and it runs smooooth as a babys ass now! Its running way better on this ONE check valve as opposed to the 2 i had before with no restrictor.. I also had to turn down the fuel pressure a little bit to the low 30's because the car smelled soo rich that you can get stoned in 2.5 seconds!! All and all, its over and the car is running reallllllllllllly good! Im gonna take it to the track on weds night and hope for a low 13 high 12 pass from my last 14.5 stock!

thanks to the both of yas!

Sweeeeeeeet! I'm going to guess Low to Mid 12's so long as you can get it hooked. Good luck!

Great! Its always something else... i guess i didnt drive my car long enough to figure out another problem.... when the car warms up to operational temperature, under part throttle, itll bog when taking off untill i hit the gas to the floor, thennnn itll take off fine... and under a hard shift from boost, ill get a nice loud backfire out of my exhaust.. what gives now??? when i start the car when its cold, ill rev up just fine with no problem... 10 minutes into driving the car this happens... it will take off very sluggishly under part throttle and will pop from the front of the car....

would 8 degress timing cause this?? or my problem is elsewhere.... i do not have a timing retard soo i put the timing down to 8 to avoid pings seeing that 10 degrees would ping.... could this be my problem? or its elsewhere?

Try it... run your timing up to 10* and give it a spin. I'm running 10 * and 9 lbs out of my KB on 91 gas with no problems. If you're running 93 gas (even given that our setups are completely different) I'd wager that you'll be good.

thats very friggen weird... what made me retard it to 8 was that at 10, it would ping whent he motor is over 180 degrees high up in boost..... i am running 93

Every car is different. There are other reasons besides just octane and timing that can causing you to ping. We still have no idea what your air fuel ratio is like through your RPM range. You might be lean down low but rich up top. Remember, you put those 24s in and ditched the FMU. Tmoss reminded me yesterday that at WOT your computer is no longer looking at your AFR but running from a predetermined fuel table. More than anything else... I think you need a good dyno tune.

I hear ya witht he dyno tune... im just crap broke right now

About the FMU.. i did NOT ditch that... i am stilll running that. I think i will put it at 10 and see if that problem goes away as soon as i get out of class.... it seems like all this happened after i retarded it to 8... at 10, it would not backfire.... well ill soon see.... if you can, ill be out of class at 1, if you can talk to me on AIM that would be cool.... thanks

Ok... I'll write myself a note. You ever get the recalibration kit for the FMU or are you still running 10:1?

still 10:1. Downs ford has to order it from vortech and itll be a week... I think i am just gonna order it myself and next day that beyotch here.. i need the 6:1 right???... other then that, i have no clue why it popps from the FRONT of the car when its under load and it doesnt wanna go nowhere... thats beyond me... i am going to try the timing as soon as my friend comes home with the light.... if 10 fixes that problem AND i get the ping back, i dont know what to do then?

It's simple, get a dyno tune. If you have the problems still, they have the right equipment to do the job right.

if i had the 700 right now to get one done for speed density i would love to... I am going to get a new bottom end, heads and a cam soo i can get it tuned.. no sense doing it twice ya know? i have a feeling its something stupid i dont know about, like every other problem...

I am going to do the timing today... and put a 255 fuel pump in to replace my stock one

have you checked the diaphram on the fmu?

what are you plugs reading like after a hard run, or do you even read them?

i checked nothing with the FMU... i bought it when i had 19 lb injectors....... I tried leaning my fuel out tonight and that did nothing at all....

If i were to sit at a light and keep revving it, it will backfire SOOOO loud.... The car is loading up with gas and i dont understand why??? this allll happened after i dropped my timing down to 8... why i would have no clue because i doubt that would cause it... my friend wasnt home with the timing light sooo i couldnt get toi doing that.. whats weird is that if i take off WOT, itll be fine... until i shift and POWWWWWWWW......but under part throttle it will bogg when taking off and acts like it doesnt wanna go nowhere..... hmm im stumped..

if i were to let the car sit for awhile, it will be fine for the first mile or 2 then it will go back to what its doing.. Im guessing because as time goes, the motor is loading up with gas???? ahh i need help!
