i was just wondering how your aftermarket blowers run when its really hot outside? i know that blowers creat a lot of underhood heat, and i was wondering if you had to be carful with them on really hot days, or when running the car for about an hours time?

does the tune help with that or the psi? whats the most psi to run before heat starts to become a factor? thanks for any info about this or relating things. what blowers do you have? what psi? and can you run it for an hour with out having a problem?

personally, the car runs quite a bit slower when it has heated up and its hot outside, but, my gauge never goes above a certain point which leads me to beleive if everything is working correctly it can only get so hot.

your motor "should" run at a set temp all the time. thats why there is a thermostat. in the summer , you will notice the fan running more. this is to keep your motor at the predetermined temp set in the ECU. on really hot days, in traffic and such when the fans can't fully keep up and the coolant temp raises, your Inlet Air Temp (IAT) and your Engine Collant Temp (ECT) sensors will send a signal to the ECU, in turn the ECU will pull timing as needed to keep the motor "Safe" from detonation, hence the loss in power. Rule of thumb is -4hp per degree timing pulled, and vise versa. This is where a GOOD tune comes into play!

so the tuner will be able to control all of this? or at should be able to. :D

is there a difference between running a car that comes with a blower( 03 cobra, roush stage 3...) and running an aftermarket ( gt with a kb or paxton) in the heat? difference in how they perform? does heat effect both the same?

The tuner will tune around the reading from the IAT sensor. My car is dog slow today, and it's about 85 out. Simple fix is an intercooler.

A cobra would suffer the same problem as a Vortech, in they don't have an IC. The KB does, which will help lower the intake temps, but you'll still have a loss of power in the summer.

I can't wait for it to get cold again. ;)
