I have a 03 GT with 373's, O/R x-pipe, flowmasters, CAI, 5-speed.
Which would be better, 8 PSI procharger 3 core, or a 9PSI kenne bell? Any help would be great!!

I have always like the power of centrifugal blowers, but I guess the kenne bell is pretty popular.

Depends on if you want a track set-up or more of a street set-up. The KB will give u more torque since it is a roots-type blower. the KB is great on the street while the Procharger is awesome on the track. Personally, I tend to like roots style s/c's so i would lean towards the KB Plus, if u go through T&J to get the KB u will have a safe tune and set-up that will give u 400+ hp safely

UM no. Kenne Bell is a twin screw supercharger NOT a roots. Roots works on difference principles and it also is MUCH less efficient than a twin screw supercharger.

What it boils down to is price. If you are just a track man and dont worry about how your car performs on the street the most sound choice is centrifugal supercharger. If you have a street car that you want to be fast at the track also but have plenty of fun driving torque then you want twin screw.

But you will also pay more to get that lowend power + keep the topend. Well worth it IMO.

I have an 02 gt with the 8 pound procharger kit. My car made 410 hp at the wheels on a mustang dyno with an Acufab throttle body and inlet tube with stock exhaust! Procharger makes a good kit but besure to get the 42 lb injectors. Also the chip they send you is trash, get a shop to tune your car and burn you a chip. Lastly you may have to get a different fuel pump the the 255 lph; which i had to do if you decide to take that route steeda makes a returnless dual pump set up ($400) that fixs the problem. Go with the ati you will be happy once everything is all said and done. Good luck either way but there is nothing like a super charged stang!

IMO - if you're really serious about getting one or the other ask here
http://www.modularmustangs.net/forumdisplay.php?f=11 for any / all power adder questions.

It depends on what your goal is. The procharger is nice but the procharger P1 SC wont be the best if you want to make loads of RWHP Maybe a D1, or F1 procharger . If it's a question of a centrifigual s/c vs. a roots style / twin screw or whatever (kirkyg ) it depends on what your trying to do w/ the car. A centrifigual will give more RWHP than the other, but a KB etc... will give much more low end boost. However a KB can still support upto 700 RWHP on an 03 Cobra so maybe it's what you want. Also - a basic procharger will be about the cheapest s/c you can get vs. a KB being probably the most expensive. Do what I did register, and ask those who know best.

I disagree...twin screw has proven to push maximum boost from 1000-redline. Now i have no personal experience with an 8000+ rpm engine but as far as cobras and sohc GT's the twin screw puts out as much or MORE maximum peak power AND has near max boost off idle. Again, you get what you pay for. The twin screw is better just about any way you look at it but its also more expensive.

with a 14lb pulley on a GT Kenne Bell (1.7 ltr) the blower runs out of steam at around 5500rpm. But the torque really helps the car get up and go. If I had a GT I would wait for the 2.2lt Kenne Bell and get a forged short block and pile on the boost

Borrowing your words.......ummmmm, no. That little 1.7 is no match in terms of peak power against a centrifugal blower.

That being said, to the thread starter, I'd get the KB instead of the procharger based on my experience with a P1SC that was on my car last year.

True it's no match up to but the point is who can get to their horsepower faster? While the centrifical blower is working it's way up to 400 around 6rpm, the Kb is already at 400 at 3500rpm and steadily pulling away. That's why people with gears can beat a car with the same HP because they can get to the power band a hell of alot quicker and a KB hits the HP as soon as WOT is applied.

Your'e 2 1/2 hours from me. Next time I come through to go to T&J I'll take ya for a spin and show you how fast a centrifugal can make 17 psi.

hey swing by and pick me up too damn it !

BTW- kirkyg someone recently made 25 PSI of boost w/ a Novi 2K. Yeah a centrifigual. My car makes boost plenty early anyway. Just hit the gas, and you're sideways. Much more than my tires, suspension can handle already. Besides I like the fact I can drive around all day w/o seeing boost unless I want it. At least I get a second of first, and second gear before the boost kicks in, and boils the tires.

Ok as you can see the skys the limit it depends what you want out of your car. The answer to your question is that both are good systems and will give you impressive #'s. As far a price goes neither is cheap and in all reality the procharger is going to be a little less expensive the the keene bell system after you buy all the things to make it work correctly. Just do you self a favor if you plan to keep the stock bottom end of your motor keep the boost down; both will make more then enough power with the 8 pound of boost. Open up the exhaust and work on traction. Personally i have an ati on my 02 Gt and i'm very happy. It makes over 400 hp at the wheels and makes the car a blast to drive. Do some reasearch and see what works for you.

Then why is it that EVERY SINGLE dyno graph on the net shows the 1.7L KB pushing to 6000 rpms and i've not seen one attempt to spin faster...id bet it has a few more 100 rpms too.

Just because you can have instant boost with a KB doesn't mean you have to. Thats the biggest and lamest misconception about the twin screw supercharger. It will only give you boost if you mash the pedal If not you can accelerate just like normal.

how far do you have to mash the gas to get the boost w/ a KB ? You don't think a centrifugal makes boost if you "mash the gas" stop contradicting yourself.

Why don't you get a blower, and then school us all ? Geez. You've been talking down to people like you know everything about every form of poweradder since I registered here yet you only have 227 RWHP.

All you people with superchargers are making me sick. I want one so bad. I say go with the KB because then you don't have to buy a newer lower intake to maximize power with the Procharger.

a factory 2V intake will support plently of RWHP. Much more than a Procharger P1 can out grow for sure. Sorry if I made ya lol maybe someday when we're all too old to care or remeber kirkyg will to.
