BLOWERS?????

17lb?

Your'e 2 1/2 hours from me. Next time I come through to go to T&J I'll take ya for a spin and show you how fast a centrifugal can make 17 psi. :nice:
None the less you still have to spool up just like a turbo, you get your boost in correlation to your rpms. Just think the KB can send a stock gt to 430hp with the intake options at 9lbs and you need 17lbs to hit 663. If you forged the internals on a gt and the Kb could could produce 17lbs(i believe it only does 15) then your centrifical would look like small potatoes. The fact still remains centrificals build with rpms and twin-screws build with how fast you can slam the gas pedal. Just keepin it real :nice:

how far do you have to mash the gas to get the boost w/ a KB ? You don't think a centrifugal makes boost if you "mash the gas" stop contradicting yourself.

Why don't you get a blower, and then school us all ? Geez. You've been talking down to people like you know everything about every form of poweradder since I registered here yet you only have 227 RWHP.

Um 1/2 throttle as everyone that owns a KB has clearly stated. You will get within 1 psi of maximum boost by 2000 rpms. Just because i dont own one because my funds or low doesn't mean i haven't ridden in the cars and have alot of hands on with them. You are just mad because what your saying is simply not true and is totally misleading to the people that are reading it, all in the name of brand loyalty.

You don't think a centrifugal makes boost if you "mash the gas"

What is that supposed to mean. Any forced induction will create boost eventually (by mashing the gas) just depends on how long it takes to get to the rpm required to make boost. With a Kenne Bell there is no rpm requirement you will make boost at any rpm. With a centrifugal if your at 2000 rpms and you mash it depending on the blower you might make 1 pound of boost (maybe none) so your car is basically stock until you get the rpms up. Most people like the big block feel of the twin screw because its like you just added cubes to your engine. Like i said i would buy a centrifugal if i was just building a track car. But me and alot of other individuals on this board want something that is fun to drive on the street and just as fast on the strip.

Yes, 17 psi, indeed one of if not the most powerful 2V street cars in the country right now. Ask around. So your'e saying that I have to "spool up like a turbo" now? rofl With an s trim, bullitt intake (& the KB does come with another intake btw), magnaflow x pipe, & magnaflow cat back on my car I made 437 rwhp (got the graph if you want to see it) so let's not get into the dispute about which one is better and makes more power and blah blah blah typical 20 year old ****. No reason for it. Just wonder to yourself why my car is making more power than most KB 03/04 Cobras :D .

I'll keep you in mind next week as I know someone with the exact same engine combination as me putting a 1.7 KB on his car so we'll see if my car looks like "small potatoes" then.

In the meantime.............keep it real lmao.:nice:

To the thread starter.............I'd still get the KB as I think it's the baddest street blower on the market right now. My best advice-never take advice from ANYONE that doesn't have a damn blower on their car right now. They're in the same position as you are.........wondering what's best. Good luck and sorry for my part in hijacking.:)

they both run off the crank pulley, and a centrifigal is only at a disadvantage in first gear (which really last how long). After that it has boost all the way in every gear just the same unless you let the engine slow all the way down before you hit the gas again when you upshift. Plus centrifiguals are capable of more boost = more RWHP. I only wanted to make 368 RWHP b/c I have 100K mile on my engine plus I have an intercooler. Give me a forged shortblock, and smaller blower pulley and the sky's the limit for me. There's no way a KB'd GT can make the peak RWHP my Novi 2000 GT can (/ is capable of anyway).

dude when are you going to get it in your head im not dissing the centrifugal's performance. I'm merely stating you get what you pay for. The KB will be a more fun experience for anyone period because you ahve the same boost level anywhere no matter what speed or rpm your moving at. I'm not saying a centrifugal is a waste of money it is NOT. We have a pony tour through my city two weekends ago and a guy with a procharger was there. He had all kinds of stuff done to his car and he ran a best of 10.98. No doubt an extremely fast car. I would probably go that route if i was on a limited budget and was building a track only car. But im not i daily drive my mustang which means if im on the freeway cruising at 1900 rpms i want max boost instantly no matter what gear im in...that to me is what fun driving is all about. Not well let me get the rpms up so i can star to pickup.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't questioning your 17lbs, I've seen the vid. and also know that the words "stock block" probaly hasn't applied to your car in a long while. Yet the fact still remains centrificals spin with the rpm's right? Or maybe that propeller looking thing is just to spin the cool air going into the intake. I know your car's bad, and I have friends here where I live with 1000hp supra's, 700hp cobra's and 10 sec. qm cars. Hell I just got my stang last year and am still saving up for my blower. But from all the gear heads I've hung around it was told to me that tubo's spool up, centrificals spool up but faster than turbo's, and twin-screw's spool up the fastest giving almost instant boost at WOT? Please if this is wrong let me know, I'm always willing to learn and don't want to be spouting off incorrect info to our fellow stangers

I've done 4 KB blown 2valves with built engines. We just finished one today..The KB is cool and I love it.But,I regret to inform all that the 1.7 wont even come close to Kidds 663rwhp T T-trim with the same head/engine combo..We just did one with the exact same setup as Kidds car..Its is WAY short of 663rwhp..

Its a cool car,a blast to drive, but its not 600rwhp.And thats with the same heads Kidd has..It runs out of steam with our race heads @ 6500rpm.With our stage 2 heads it ran out of steam @6200..With Foxlake heads it went dead @ 6000-6100rpm.

Sorry guys,I've done 4 now.It is a kick ass blowerr, but its to small to compete with a bigger cen on HP numbers..I'll lay Kidds 663rwhp over the KB blown car and post it up in a few weeks.I can' t now because the owner hasn't taken delivery yet and its not my place to release his numbers. They are impressive, but not 663rwhp..Not even close.

But damn the KB's are a blast to drive..:)

Oh and by the way I'll be heading your way later this year to get a setup on my car, I was going to go to JMS down near Mobile, Al. ,but I've been hearing so great things about T&J. Plus you guys are closer. Just thought I'd let you know the word around Al. is that the name T&J is good as gold :nice:

Exactly...on a stock car that is redlined at 6000-6200 the 1.7L is enough to get the 15-17+psi maximum all the way throuhg the rpm range. I think that has been the piont early which so many disagreed with...it will run out of steam eventually just because its a small blower. But then again thats what the 2.2L is for. BTW, CK did you see my post on yalls messageboard about the KB kits. PM me with any details about pricing and what the kit includes if you have time. Thanks.
