Blown Head gasket repair

Hi all,
I usually post in the 4.6L forume, but a friend of mine has a 5.0L with over 150,000 miles that has blown a head gasket so I thought I'd get some info. Since the head needs to come off what else should he replace at the same time with the high mileage?? Would it be advantageous to just get a pair of new heads? Keep in mind that he's trying to keep this as economically feasible as possible. Any thoughts??
Also, if he decides to just get a pair of rebuilt/new heads how hard is the install?? Is it as simple as just unbolting the old heads and bolting on the new ones?

Thanks,
WES

Hey I was just going to post a thread inquiring what should be replaced or checked out on a high mileage engine. So I guess this post is a *Bump* Also where can I get a stock rebuild kit with stock 9.0:1 compression ratio and forged pistons? thanks

while you have the heads off, get a valve job, have them flattened before you put them back on the block becuase they are more than likely warped. get an exhaust side port job for 100 bucks, check your lower intake out make sure the water jackets in the lower will seal up good to the new gasket (sometimes erodes with time) check your roller lifters for wear, check your pushrods to see if they are bent. take your time and do it right, replace any sensors that you need to... chean out any sludge that is visible in the oil galley, have machine shop dip the heads...
