I usually post in the 4.6L forume, but a friend of mine has a 5.0L with over 150,000 miles that has blown a head gasket so I thought I'd get some info. Since the head needs to come off what else should he replace at the same time with the high mileage?? Would it be advantageous to just get a pair of new heads? Keep in mind that he's trying to keep this as economically feasible as possible. Any thoughts??
Also, if he decides to just get a pair of rebuilt/new heads how hard is the install?? Is it as simple as just unbolting the old heads and bolting on the new ones?
